BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend took place the last weekend of May, Friday, 26th - Sunday, 28th, at Camperdown Country Park in Dundee, hosting Scotland's event of the summer and kickstarting the UK's festival season in style.
Run by the BBC's radio station, BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend is a yearly event held in a different location within the United Kingdom each year. The event attracts over 80,000 music lovers, celebrating the UK's best and brightest talents.
This year, the festival line-up saw some incredible performances from some of the biggest names in music, including The 1975, Anne-Marie, Niall Horan and Lewis Capaldi.
Shipping container studio
At the festival, BBC Radio 1 hosted a pop-up studio using a custom-build shipping container conversion for events to assist with the live radio commentary and social media coverage.
The custom build shipping container activation used five shipping containers and an upper deck viewing gallery in a similar layout to our Statement Premium customised container cluster.

The top two shipping container have been fabricated to create one big, open space with a surrounding glass facade to create a remote studio area to assist with the radio and video commentary of the event without interruption while showing the festival crowd and atmosphere as the backdrop. The bottom three shipping container conversions provided a photo booth and chill-out area.
The custom build shipping container was paint finished black for a subtle look. Interiorly, the customised container was branded to reflect this year's festival design and set-up to create cosy studio vibes.

Spotted on BBC Radio 1's TikTok and Instagram social media channels, filmed and captured from the custom build shipping container studio, were famous faces Raye, Inhaler, Mimi Webb, Flo, Jonas Brothers and Lewis Capaldi.
The custom build shipping container activation was also at Download Festival and will be travelling to Boardmasters and Reading Festival too.
