The 2024 TCS London Marathon took place on Sunday, 21st April, with more than 50,000 people, a record number of runners, taking part in the gruelling 26.2-mile race through the capital.
One of the most popular marathons in the world, the route takes in many of London's best landmarks, including Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.
At 10km, runners run around Cutty Sark, a 150-year-old merchant ship and the world's only surviving extreme clipper, taking its name from a Robert Burns poem called 'Tam O'Shanter', referring to a short nightie worn by a witch called Nannie. At this point of the race, the crowd surges in size and volume.
