The New Year offers a whole host of new and exciting event industry trends for us to incorporate into our strategies over the next twelve months. Amongst the many articles and reports we have read, predicting what lies in store for the experiential sector in 2015, we came across the Event Manager Blog Trends Report for 2015 and we have to say, it offered some rather interesting insights.
Whilst the report contains a wealth of observations and predictions, we were particularly interested in what it had to say about mobile event structures as venues for events and experiential strategies. In the report ‘The Event Manager Blog’ mobile structures, such as exhibition units and upcycled shipping containers, are dubbed ‘drag and drop venues’, and predicts these will continue to play a huge role in the experiential sector in 2015.
The report highlights how event professionals are constantly reinventing the use of these mobile exhibition units and shipping containers for a wide range of events from music venues and experiential campaigns to education spaces and entertainment revenues. The fact is that these venues can essentially be anything you want them to be. They are fully customisable and able to contribute to the unique brand experience you are looking to create.
Mobile exhibition units and upcycled shipping containers offer personalisation and flexibility benefits.
A personalised experience
A key benefit of these venues highlighted by the report was personalisation. Unlike other some other more traditional venues, mobile exhibition units and upcycled shipping containers provide charisma and personality to their application. They allow brands to give their experiential event a bigger personality and create a more personalised experience for their audience.
Unrivalled flexibility
Not only that but these mobile venues also offer unrivalled flexibility. The use of mobile exhibition units and upcycled shipping containers are infinitely more flexible than traditional venues, from all angles. The fact they can be tailored to all budgets and transported to all locations gives them both cost and geographical flexibility that brands of all sizes can benefit from. Available in a wide range of different sizes also gives them flexibility in terms of providing the perfect space for both intimate gatherings and larger events.
Upcycled shipping containers offer a more cost effective solution for brands requiring a temporary venue.
Value for money
Although these benefits are certainly true of mobile event units, we personally think that the report missed out a few key details. Mobile exhibition units and upcycled shipping containers also have value for money prices on their side. They offer brands a much more effective use of their budget, allowing them to get more for their money. Not only that but once rigging, security, build and production, transport and all of the associated costs are taken into account, these mobile solutions allow brands to make significant savings on the cost associated with using fixed venues and temporary structures.
Reduced lead time
Mobile event venues can also keep up with the fast moving pace of the experiential market. A key driver in the events sector is reducing the lead times that clients now demand. The beauty with structures such as roadshow trucks and upcycled shipping containers is that they can be deployed and moved quickly.
Our Pursuit roadshow truck is the perfect example of this. It offers a unique mobile pavilion and provides entertainment space for up to one hundred and fifty guests. However its flexibility and customisable design means that it can also be used as a temporary conference or training room. Meeting clients’ needs for a quick turnaround time, our Pursuit vehicle can be delivered and deployed on site in less than an hour.
